About Maya Jackson, LCSW
Background
Welcome! I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with nearly a dedcade of experience working with individuals and families. I received my Master of Social Work degree from University of Southern California. I have a variety of clinical experience ranging from individual and group psychotherapy services within a residential substance abuse center, to individual psychotherapy services provided within a Psychiatric department, to crisis intervention services. I am also trained in a variety of evidence-based practices including problem solving therapy, solution-focused therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), as well as trauma-informed practices.
My Therapy Style
I support my clients in working towards “living their best life” while building skills, increasing self-confidence and self-respect, as well as helping them to be mindful and accountable for their healing. I believe that though I am the coach that helps to guide my clients towards overall wellness, they are the experts on their life and must be committed and intentional about their healing journey.
My training is rooted in trauma-informed practices, solution-focused approaches, cultural sensitivity, and anti-racism. As a therapist, I strive to ensure that my clients feel heard, understood, respected, and safe while in session with me.
